Rudolph!

Thank you Pinterest for yet another fabulous art project. 

Today Jack and Bentley made Rudolph the red nosed reindeer out of their sweet little piggies!

There are no pictures of the process because there was no way I was getting distracted after painting my two year old's feet brown.  I'm either so brave or so stupid  :) 

Either way, he was a champ and cooperated so well. 

And, as a general rule, Jack does wear clothes... but again,

I WAS PAINTING DIRECTLY ONTO MY TWO YEAR OLD!

Had to take the proper precautions.

 This is Bentley's very first craft project! Awwww.

A bib for the boy

This is my most recent project for little man... this bib is totally pratical and we use it every day.  He even likes it because it's a little smaller than the store bought ones and I guess must be more comfortable. 

And, hello, he sure looks cute in it!

This is him posing for the picture... I have to tell him to show me his teeth and then he does this  :)

I used oilcloth so it can be wiped off after meals... and those are snaps on the front so you can fold the pocket down to clean out all the gooey bits.

Par-tay!

These are the invitations I made for Jack's 1st birthday party.

 

They were so easy~ I hand drew the elephant and then printed the invite on each,

cut it out and lined it with a black marker and drew a tail!

Easy easy!

The total for the invitations... a few dollars for some bright colored cardstock, and a few dollars for some googley eyes, that's it!

 Cheap cheap!

P.S. Jack turned one back in March... this post was a long time coming, ya think?

  This little cutie LOVES PINK... her favorite color... so I made a few PINK things for her big day.

I've never made a shirt before and it was actually less fun than I thought it would be.  I'm really not good at using patterns, so my Mom helped me a TON!  Thanks Mom!  :)

Must. Applique. Now.

Applique is like an addiction for me.  Or is an addiction. 

Same thing I think. 

 Here is a shirt I made for my little nephew again... He LOOOOOVES trains.

He might want to marry one someday... we'll see, he's only two. 

The first thing I did was draw a picture of a train.  Well, actually I had to draw approximately ONE HUNDRED pictures of a train before my husband said it looked close enough to a real train.  Seriously, every picture I showed him there was something wrong with it.  I guess he really wanted it to be perfect for little Will!

  Well anyway, when I finally got it right, I had to cut out all the little pieces for templates and then I started cutting the fabric.  The gray smoke and black wheels are felt and the rest is scraps I already had. 

And there you have it!  A train shirt for an adorable little fella.

Little big man

Just like this blog, this project is because everyone was doing it and it looked like fun! And it was! :) Here is Jack in his little tie shirt on Easter...

I used the tie pattern from this awesome tutorial here!
I've come to love applique, so as long as I can find a pattern (or freehand one)- I'm going to applique it, so watch out!

And here is my nephew, Will, in the one I made for him... his was WAAAAAY more difficult because I couldn't find a long sleeved plain white t shirt - so I MADE MY OWN! (still can't believe I did that)- I bought two short sleeved t shirts from Meijer and took off the short sleeves of one and made new long sleeves out of the other and sewed them on! It turned out pretty good!

Okay, so the sleeves may be a little long :)
