Bentley Charles!

 Born at 10:08am on May 23rd, weighing in at 6lbs 12 oz. and 19 1/4".

 Here is big brother Jack giving B his first head squish of many to come meeting baby B for the first time...

 Just for fun, the picture on the left is Jack and on the right is Bentley... brothers much??

  I LOVE THESE BOYS.

And now I would like to think I'm caught up blogging... but this little B is now 3 months old.  What's a momma to do?  :)

My little love, Mr. Jack

This blog didn't exist when Jack was born, but we can pretend, right?! 

Jack Warren was born at 4:19pm on March 27, 2009 weighing in at 8lbs 6oz.

A boy and his daddy {sigh}.

Jack is named after my Grandpa Jack and my other Grandpa Waldo Warren.  I couldn't name a kid Waldo, just couldn't... even my own grandpa didn't like his name!  So Warren it is. Was? Whatever.

 

Preggers

Nooooo sillys, not right now... I was previously preggers.  I'm just starting from the beginning.  I'm a little late on a 'wheeee new baby!' post, so I thought I would back it up even further. Here I am on the night before I gave birth to each boy. 

Are you seeing a difference there?  Uh, look at my face! With Jack, I gained FIFTY {ugly} el b's.  With Bentley, I gained 20 {oh look, it's a BAAABY in there} pounds.  I totally attribute that to a paleo/primal diet.  More on that later. I just wanted to share this little tidbit because I find it funny and/or frightening.

Next up... my 'it's a boy' {named JACK} post.  Approximately 2 1/2 years later.  So what??!

A bib for the boy

This is my most recent project for little man... this bib is totally pratical and we use it every day.  He even likes it because it's a little smaller than the store bought ones and I guess must be more comfortable. 

And, hello, he sure looks cute in it!

This is him posing for the picture... I have to tell him to show me his teeth and then he does this  :)

I used oilcloth so it can be wiped off after meals... and those are snaps on the front so you can fold the pocket down to clean out all the gooey bits.

A Mini Project for a Mini Man

I whipped up a couple onesies for Baby B the other day.... totally random project... I was cleaning out my sewing area and found lots of leftover onesies from a different project long ago. I was so excited to find them (totally lame) and realized I could whip up something super fast and get a little reacquainted with my sewing machine (weeee!).

Which desperately needs a cleaning... gotta get on that.

 The 'B' is for baby, boy, Bentley, boogers... whatever you want!

 And a little argyle for my newest little man.  Snazzy.

As a side note, I may have to stop letting Jack play with the camera... he changed a setting and the pictures are all grainy... annoying.

Drooly Babies and Such (LOVE)!

So, I've been making things for drooly babies (including my own) for a long time now and I've only done one post on them!  The hang up was, I didn't have any pictures of them... so last week I dug out my box of completed goodies and started snapping. 

 I'm in the process of making a baby, (a real baby- due May 27th!) yay!  So I figured now was the time to actually DO something with this mad stack instead of let it sit.  I WAS going to do a craft show, and I still REALLY want to (I've just always thought it would be fun!)... but time got away from me and I don't actually have enough items ready to go to one.

So, what to do?  Start an Etsy shop!  I've been told to do that for a long time by lots of peeps and just didn't... but here I am with a stack of completed things and no other outlet to sell, so here I go!  I LOVE Etsy so this should be fun... and I suppose its a tad easier to sit at home in my PJ's and try to sell my stuff rather than sit all day in a gymnasium :)  hehe.

I don't have all this listed on Etsy yet... some items I will be donating to a silent auction at my hubby's work that benefits a bunch of great volunteer organizations. 

Here is my stuff... 'check it out, check it outers'!

Pink dots girly set.

 Matching bib and burp cloth with contrasting hot pink thread!

The burp cloths measure 6.5" wide and 15" long... perfect for draping over your shoulder.

This is a large bib and measures 9" wide by 12" tall.

This is a ribbon blanket... I LOoooOOVe the colors of this fabric!

And check out the backing, it's coordinating white SUPER SOFT minky fabric... mmmmm.

The size is approximately 17"x20"

Next up are 2 bibs and 2 burp cloths, all boy all the time.

These bibs are 2 sizes, this is the larger size... it covers more area so is best for 5 months and up, including toddlers.  Speaking of toddlers, I only use snaps, so those little rascals can't pull off these bibs.  Muahahahaha.  It works too!

And this is the smaller bib, perfect for the teeny-tiny-spit-up-y newborn... awwww!

And a close up of the detail.... did I mention I lOOovE this fabric color combo too?

And all of my bibs and burp cloths have super scrubby, super absorbent terry cloth on the back... after lunch you just flip it over and scrub the face clean! 

And here is one of my non-girly fabric faves... It's understated girly...

it has the obligatory flower, but no pink in sight! 

And I really wanted the burp cloth to be something different and funky... so I sewed strips of fabric so that they will continue to fray a little bit.  Looks funky and and I love it.

This is for the wild child... Giraffe and hot pink!

I used coordinating hot pink thread to match the ric-rac.

This bib is sized for the tiny baby (snuggle!).

Last, but certainly not least, a pretty bib for a little girl. 

This is a chocolate and white print with pale pink terry cloth on the back!

Par-tay!

These are the invitations I made for Jack's 1st birthday party.

 

They were so easy~ I hand drew the elephant and then printed the invite on each,

cut it out and lined it with a black marker and drew a tail!

Easy easy!

The total for the invitations... a few dollars for some bright colored cardstock, and a few dollars for some googley eyes, that's it!

 Cheap cheap!

Bibs, Burps and Boppys (oh my!)!

Lately, I've been making all of the above for some various kiddos... shown below are for a precious baby due September 12th this year.

Here is the beautiful mommy-to-be, my oldest friend in the world (literally, we've been friends since I was 2 and she was 1!) holding up a dog print bib (for age 5-6 months and up) and burp rag.  See, we don't know whether this little one is a boy or a girl, but we do know that he or she will love dogs because this baby already has a big dog/brother named Bean. 

And this is the proud daddy-to-be, who is in an awesome band called The Steel Wheels.  He plays the mandolin and sings and is sooooo talented!  Check them out! Here, he is holding up a music print bib and burp rag combo.

And here we have a Boppy cover.  My first one! (*sniff*)  I really loved making this and even loved it more because I had all of this fabric on hand- all I had to buy was the zipper (some where around $1.50) and do you know what these covers usually cost???  Up to $25 each!

Wowza!
